So in case you haven’t heard, Asher Roth came out a while ago with an awesome concept he called the Ash A Cappella. He layed down an awesome solo freestyle without any instruments or beats behind him (which you can find here on his soundcloud) and told people to make remixes, mash it up, basically do whatever..just make it sick.
In my opinion, and according to roth on his twitter (@asherroth), this is the best version yet.

Cohiba (Freestyle) - Olu
Wow, this was actually recorded at 3 a.m. yesterday morning as a freestyle from Olu. This was my first time ever hearing something by this guy, but honestly, I can’t wait for his mixtape to drop on 3/15. I’m thinking it will be absolutely amazing.
It’s extremely surprising that this was produced as a spontaneous freestyle being that it sounds sooooo good. At first listen, one could easily think that this is a song that’s been in the works for a while.

New E-Dubble Mixtape: Written Thursday
In case you’ve never heard of him, E-Dubble is a sick rapper who I’m pretty sure may be based out of my hometown Baltimore..in 2010, he surprised every one laying down fresh new tracks every Friday for quite some time. This became known as Freestyle Friday. Written Thursday, the mixtape, is absolutely amazing. And yes, I’m a day late on the drop. Sue me.
E-Dubble has amazing flow and raw talent. I can only imagine the amount of skill takes to take on a project of this magnitude. simply amazing. I’m thinking that E-Dubble’s going to explode in the 2011 college scene and become the next big name.
I can’t remember which number it was but my favorite freestyle friday was definitely Palm Trees where e-dubble samples billy joel. that was amazing.

Yonkers (Mike G Remix) - Tyler, The Creator
I didn’t know that Tyler, The Creator could get any scarier. From his music to his tweets, this guy sounds like a mad man, I wouldn’t want to meet him alone in a dark alley. Hey, i’m just sayin. But in all honesty, his music is pretty sick.
Pigeons and Planes really got it right when they said “Mike G chopped it and screwed it. Nasty, toxic stuff.”
If you like deep, heavy, border line scared out of your pants rap, then you’d be down for this. If you like Tyler, The Creator, well, you probably would fit into that categorie from the get go.
